Shoe Goo Your Booties!

Booties have become almost standard even for a beginning skydiver’s first belly fly jumpsuit. Booties are extremely beneficial for formation skydiving and tracking. But many skydivers quickly ruin their $400 jumpsuit by walking around in those booties every weekend at the DZ. And it only takes a couple of weekends to wear out the stitching on the sides, causing the bottoms of the booties to fall off. One way to solve the problem is to only wear the booties in the plane and in freefall. Some formation skydivers use this method by keeping the booties rolled up while walking around and only putting on the booties when in the plane and then taking them off under canopy or as soon as they land. If this seems too much of a hassle, I have two words for you: Shoe Goo. This product, or close imitations, can be picked up at Wal-Mart or online. It has been used for decades by skateboarders to extend the life of their shoes....and it's the best thing for your booties! Coat the entire bottom, sides and front of the booties, letting it dry overnight in a well-ventilated area. Then feel free to walk on your booties. You will have to recoat the booties with Shoe Goo every 2-6 months, depending on how frequently you jump or walk in them. If you don’t Shoe Goo your booties, they will wear out quickly, forcing you to bring your jumpsuit to me for a costly repair. I don’t mind the extra business, but you can save yourself $100 and protect your investment with a $10 tube of Shoe Goo, which is available at ChutingStar at this link.
