Vmag GoPro Chin Helmet Mount. Fits all GoPro cameras, including the latest HERO12 on to the Cookie G4, G3 and KISS helmets!

This Danish engineered and designed product is a strong magnet mount that works with most of the action camera types on the market. The strong magnets hold the camera securely during your skydive, but it's then easy to take the V-mount off the helmet mount, with a straight pull. And then it's extremely easy to put your camera back on again.

Currently available for:

  • Cookie G4
  • Cookie G3
  • Skyhelmets Funjin
  • Square1 KISS (Note: See the photo in the images above for the KISS helmet variations. All older KISS helmets have a Large vent, and for awhile the KISS was made with either a Small or Large vent, and now all new KISS helmets have the Small vent. Check your KISS helmet vent size against the photo and these measurements: Large vent is a 5mm opening and the Small vent is a 2mm opening. Contact us if you have any questions or need help.)

The Vmag features extreme magnets while being lightweight. The position of the mount allows the user to see the GoPro recordings while skydiving, also letting you know if it's recording or not.

Make the best tandem videos! Pull off the camera to make great recordings of your tandem guests as a handheld. You can take photos and video without pulling off your helmet.

The Vmag is easy to attach to your helmet. It comes with two screws to attach the base to the G3, G4 and Kiss. When it’s screwed all the way on, you're ready to go skydiving!

In case of a linesnag, the magnetic attachment allows you to pull out the the Vmag mount, splitting the mount in two without breaking it, and then simply put it back on again. Or if it's an emergency entanglement or cutaway, you can throw the camera after pulling it off.

In the event of a collision, or a crash, the Vmag is attached with very strong magnets, and can only be pulled of with a straight forward pull. If the crash force is big enough the mount will release or break.

The cut away is integrated in the mount, so in the event of the camera getting snagged, simply pull off your camera, get clear of the snag, and mount the camera again, so you can keep it.

Simply put the Vmag helmet piece in the air vent and screw it on from the back side. You can attach the Vmag in less than 5 minutes.

Note: The original Vmag and Vmag V2 are not interchangeable.

I loved the convenience and safety aspects. After in the hangar, I realized my Hero 8 wasn't on my chin; I didn't find it in the landing area and had no freefall collisions, so I decided "I screwed up." I then bought the Vmag replacement part & a Hero 10; lost both in less than a month after a slight freefall "tap" that hit the camera (nothing else). It would have stayed on with my Grellfab rubberband mount. After losing 2 cameras (and hearing several other stories of lost cameras), I realized it simply isn't a good mount for skydiving. Great idea, poor design (comes off with a slight tap) and/or quality (perhaps needs stronger magnets). I might consider buying a better-designed Vmag with stronger magnets, but definitely NOT this one.

I love the idea of a chin mount, and it worked great for a few months and about 100 jumps, then one day, my GoPro disappeared on opening (not even the hardest opening I’ve had while wearing it). My brother lost his GoPro with one too, and from reading the reviews and forums from different drop zones, this is a common occurrence.
If you ignore my advice and get one, at least do yourself a favor and back up your footage after each jump so you don’t lose video from more than one jump.

Flew right off my Kiss helmet exiting the door! No contact, just a straight dive out of the plane following some friends; I thought to myself "it must have hit SOMETHING.." - but after closely studying my buddy's video, you can see very clearly it just caught wind and flew off. Perhaps there was some crud in the magnet or something, but this was my 80th jump with the mount so shouldn't have accumulated too much dirt.. this was the 4th Vmag camera loss at my DZ this month - beware!! It works great until it doesn't!

I got a vmag chin mount for a new kiss helmet. I have used it less than 100 jumps before it flew off of my face- to be frank, my face did not hit anything causing it to budge off, the wind took it. This is 3 weeks after the same thing happened to my boyfriend- the magnet and GoPro both came off before we even exited the plane, the wind took it. We’ve lost $1000 in gorpro and equipment thanks to this cheaply made and falsely advertised product. The magnet comes off with just wind, it is not reliable, multiple drop zones have banned it and I now see why. Worst product ever. Beyond that, there is no customer service for me to speak with regarding the fact that my $500 GoPro fell off of my face today. If you want a chin mount, buy literally anything except for the vmag. Would not recommend to even my worst enemy.

  5. Convenience at the cost of camera in 40 jumps

    Cookie G4 version.

I bought this VMag to replace a cheap 3D-primted plastic chin mount (which cracked getting kicked on a tight exit, but saved the camera). Took me another 40 jumps to get another kick, but this time camera flew away with the mount (magnet stayed attached to the helmet).

While I enjoy the convenience, it's way too expensive to get a new camera and a replacement mount every ~40 jumps. Can't recommend this mount for any RW. But it's probably good enough for contact-less jumps.

As frustrated as I am that my GoPro with the mount was bitch slapped off of my face after a year of love and care, this mount is pretty awesome. Being 6 foot, I cannot STAND having a top of head mount. Since I lost my chin mount and GoPro, I have been using a top of head mount for the past few months and I am miserable. In fact... I just bought another chin mount because I love it so much.
With this chin mount I was able to:
-Always see if I was recording or not
-Quickly change/see my camera angle at all times
-NEVER bump it on anything (it's NEVER in the way)
-Get great angles for freeflying and tandem (NOT belly dives it is too low)
-Take the GoPro off and throw it back on whenever I wanted with ease
-Never have my videos of jumps ruined from hitting my camera on exit or in the plane
-always see how much memory and battery I have left

So yeah, if you're a shitshow skydiver and like to meat missile or get meat missiled, I do not recommend... but I love it so much and recommend it for tall people. I am going to try to engineer a clip on/tied thing so if someone tries to rip off my GoPro again, it will just dangle still attached to my helmet. But yeah, I am so excited to get back to the chin mount grind.

I much prefer a chin mount for my GoPro. I purchased a Vmag after friends recommended and after reading up on the product. The magnet appears to be strong but it's not. It didn't survive a relatively docile collision with another jumper on exit...GoPro and attached mount lost. I decided to try again and purchased another Vmag. After an even MORE docile bump with another jumper on exit (literally, just a slight bump), I lost a second GoPro and attached mount. I realize the convenience of removing the camera quickly is the advantage of the Vmag magnet...but adding a safety release cable would help to save a lot of lost cameras. Vmag caused me to lose two GoPros (and lots of $$ replacing them)...I won't buy this poor quality mount again.

I got the Vmag chin mount for the Kiss helmet. I couldn't be happier. The hardest part of the entire installation process was removing the screws that come on the helmet. Once I got those out, the installation literally took me less than 2 minutes. The video on the company website on how to install was super easy to understand and the process super easy. It's well designed and would take quite some force to pull the camera off at anything other than a straight ahead angle, and even then, it takes quite a bit of force to pull it off.

This is a great mount, safety is obviously paramount with a 15-lb pull force needed to rip this from your helmet. With this feature comes the measurable chance that you will lose your GoPro during impact or upon exiting the plane. Just be mindful of that if you plan on getting this product. Otherwise I've been very happy with it, it's definitely a good product.

I was excited to try this product after looking at the reviews but the excitement was short lived. After opening the box all I found was the mount, a pull-up cord and a mint. Everything else the box claimed to have was missing. There was NO bag of installation screws. I didn’t even get the sticker that the box claimed to have. There were no screws, no nuts and no sticker. The box claims to have 6 items but I was missing 50% of them. The box was sealed so I know chutingstar didn’t mess with it. Vmag is a mediocre company with no quality control. How can you seal a box and send it off for sale with half the items missing? Carelessness at it’s best! How can you rip-off your customers like that? This is so unfair! This product is useless to me because I can’t install it on my hemet it to try it. I was robbed!
The product looks 3-printed so I can’t be too confident on it’s durability and quality.
    100% getting a refund!
    Shame on you Vmag!!!!!
    More like Vwack!
