The SonoAlti 3 is a great logging audible that interfaces with the FDS Logbook and builds on the strengths of the previous generation.
SonoAlti 3 is an audible altimeter and data logger with a rugged anodized aluminum case. As a standard beeping audible, the SonoAlti 3 is like a smoke alarm in that it is made to get your attention. The frequencies and speaker technology cuts through the wind noise.
The biggest improvements from the previous SonoAlti version is in the hardware itself. It is smaller by a significant amount and is hardcoat-anodized. It also has double the battery life, which can last up to four months between charges (this of course depends on use). And it has the USB-C connection. On the software side it is very similar as the previous models with mostly small improvements, but now you can copy presets under Settings->Main.Â
The SonoAlti 3 connects with FDS Logbook, which includes a free year to try it out.
