Custom Tonfly VID1 Shock Absorbing Camera Helmet.
VID1 is the first shock absorbing camera helmet, Â mainly developed for skydiving, but also suitable for other air sports. The VID1 combines an advanced lining system with a cutaway chinstrap allowing increased stability, comfort and safety in flight.
The helmet is made of a carbon-aramid shell, shock absorbing EPS liner and cutaway chinstrap. This light helmet, at around 700 grams, has increased noise reduction, and is the most comfortable and stable helmet in Tonfly's helmet range.
While not impact rated, the shock absorbing EPS liner combines with a single body, carbon-aramid shell to insure a lighter weight with increased protection against impact and penetration. The shell has an extended lifetime compared to ABS helmets as it is not subject to degradation from the atmosphere.
The VID1 also offers complete aesthetic freedom through two premium finishing technologies. You can choose between the classic handcrafted custom paint or the ALUFINISH option, which is a transparent colored treatment that preserves the visibility of the helmet's composite texture and is renowned for its superior resistance to scratches and impacts.

Measurements:
You can be measured by our ChutingStar Crew at our ChutingStar Skydiving Gear SuperStore in Marietta GA or at any event or boogie we are attending. Or, you can submit your own measurements following the measuring guide below. See the images below for a demonstration of the 2 measurements, plus the additional description below. Contact us for additional help with how the measurements are taken.
- Head Circumference:Â Measure the circumference of the head at the forehead height, being careful that the tape is horizontal and has the right tension (not too loose, not too tight)
- Upload a photo of the Head Circumference measurement being taken.
- Face Width:Â Measure the face width by positioning 2 rulers (or similar objects), at the base of the ears and make sure they are held vertically and parallel between them. Extend the tape horizontally and measure the distance between the 2 points.
