EPICENE PRO 2 Ultra-Low-Bulk Wingsuit Skydiving Main Parachute from Squirrel!

Note: Please read the ordering instructions in the description below for links to the Squirrel Design Program.

  • For wingsuit skydivers of all skill levels
  • Best-in-class opening behavior
  • Reduced front riser pressure
  • Improved speed, glide, and flare performance
  • Super low pack volume
  • Incredibly easy to pack

The EP2 is the latest in the Epicene series and is designed for WS skydivers of all skill levels. If you are entering the discipline of wingsuit skydiving or if opening behavior is your number one concern, the EP2 is the parachute you should choose.

Like its predecessor, the EP2's primary characteristic is reliable openings for wingsuit skydiving. Speed, glide, and flare have now been improved thanks to a new profile used during the Omicron development, and front riser pressure is reduced, making landing turns easier and more fun. Flare is noticeably improved, and durability remains solid -- there are now many EPICENE series canopies out there still flying with more than 1500 jumps.

Since 2014 the EPICENE series has cared for some of the world's best skydivers: Andy Farrington, Noah Bahnson, Mike Swanson, Amber & Espen, The RedBull Skydive Team, Sebastian Alvarez, Dani Roman, Dan Darby, Jack Lane, and the Squirrel Team all jump the EPICENE series by choice.

PACKING YOUR EPICENE

Thanks to the ultra-light low-bulk Porcher Sport PN9 material on the main surfaces and ribs, it is very easy to pack. The material lays flat quickly and is highly formable with no propensity to expand or squirm out of your control during the fold and reduction process. Its overall pack volume is around 30% less than 9 cell ZP canopy designs depending on size and type.

IN-FLIGHT

Piloting the EP2 is straightforward and fun. It has a sporty and compact feel in the air, with direct control inputs and progressive brake-travel. Read the reviews to see what our customers say about Epicene flight characteristics.

THE PILOT

7-cell designs made from 0-3cfm fabric (F-111) all require some experience to land comfortably, compared to lightly loaded 9-cell ZP designs, and therefore the EP2 is not recommended for student use. It is designed specifically for wingsuit use, but is suitable for other skydiving applications as well.

CHOOSING YOUR SIZE

Squirrel recommends a wingloading in the range of 1.2:1 for experienced skydivers. Expert wingsuit and canopy pilots may wish to fly the EP2 at a higher wingloading, but the canopy‘s best opening characteristics will be experienced at the recommended wingloading. Density altitude is a factor to consider - if you skydive more in Colorado than you do in California, for example, then choose your size accordingly. Always be aware of changing density altitude conditions.

SLICK JUMPS (NON-WINGSUIT USE)

Although the Epicene series is designed specifically for wingsuit skydiving, a decade of team and customer feedback has demonstrated that it performs well for non-wingsuit jumps.

MATERIALS

Porcher Sport PN9 is the highest quality low-bulk 0-3cfm material available. The ZP leading edge improves the EP2's longevity and performance. It is delivered with 725lb Spectra lines. No other line options are available.

EPICENE PRO REVIEW
"The Epicene Pro is a dope ass canopy, I wish would have got one few years back! Coming from flying a ____ the opening was way better on the Epicene Pro and faster, almost scared me thought was going to get slammed but she’s soft and very fun to fly… plus the all black with green leading edge looks pimp as f!! Thank you so much for the new gear stoked as to put more jumps on them and see where they take me in the future."  -Jonny Pearson
