VID1 is the first shock absorbing camera helmet, Â mainly developed for skydiving, but also suitable for other air sports. The VID1 combines an advanced lining system with a cutaway chinstrap allowing increased stability, comfort and safety in flight.
The helmet is made of a carbon-aramid shell, shock absorbing EPS liner and cutaway chinstrap. This light helmet, at around 700 grams, has increased noise reduction, and is the most comfortable and stable helmet in Tonfly's helmet range.
While not impact rated, the shock absorbing EPS liner combines with a single body, carbon-aramid shell to insure a lighter weight with increased protection against impact and penetration. The shell has an extended lifetime compared to ABS helmets as it is not subject to degradation from the atmosphere.
The VID1 is based on the ICE helmet, but with these key differences:
- VID1 is equipped with a quick release system (cutaway chinstrap)
- Allows installation of cameras
- VID1 is not approved to impact rating standards
The modular lining system allows for a snug fit, protecting the base of the head and combining maximum comfort and great stability. Made with the highest quality materials and CE certification. VID1 liners are antiallergenic, easy to remove, easy to wash and resistant to sweat and wear over long term use. Refined ergonomics to the liners give an even more personal fit which increases stability under high speeds.
VID1 offers a total of 4 vents on the helmet top that allow good ventilation even after intensive use while keeping the helmet quiet.Â
