GO BIG with the QUATTRO™ audible altimeter from Larsen & Brusgaard!

The QUATTRO™ audible altimeter is the latest in micro technology and features the most advanced programming for accurately measuring freefall & canopy descent rates. The QUATTRO™ allows the skydiver four sets of warning altitudes for high speed and three for low speed flight. This provides added interactivity in configuring frequently used warning alarms.

The QUATTRO™ can also be set up to three climb warning alarms for the ultimate in precision altitude awareness.

The QUATTRO is fully automatic and can be manually turned off or on as well. The QUATTRO continually reads ambient air pressure for real-time accuracy and attention to ground level.

The QUATTRO's small and ergonomic design provides the user with comfort and less bulk when used inside a soft or hard-shell helmet. Rigging materials are included for those wishing to mount the audible on the outside of a helmet.

The QUATTRO is specifically designed for advanced skydiving disciplines: Bigways, Formation Skydiving, Freeflying, Wingsuit Flying, Student, Tandem, AFF, and also canopy related activities such as accuracy and CRW.

FEATURES:

  • Four high-speed warnings: Allows settings up to 19990 Feet and can be used for Bigway formations, wingsuit flight setup and other precision skydives where four high-speed warnings are needed and desired.
  • Track Guide: 0.5 second pulsating tones between the 1st and 2nd warnings help keep track of altitude separation of tracking groups or waves.
  • Three canopy descent and low speed warnings: The Canopy Descent Alerts are essentially low speed alerts and can also be used by wingsuit flyers to keep track of altitude in preparation for separation and canopy deployment.

The QUATTRO is 2 3/16" x 1 5/8" x 3/8" in size and takes CR2325 batteries.

I have 1 of these in my Phantom X helmet and have never had a problem. Fits perfect and always works. I also have two Optimas. However I will always buy the Quattro from here on out. The 4th freefall alarm is awesome and really miss it when I use my Optima in my other helmet.

Great features: 4 alarms, tracking guide, relatively easy to program (considering it's got a static lcd display instead of an lcd dot matrix that can present proper menus and prompts like other modern units), and incredible accuracy.

Not so great features: not water proof at all (ipx6 at least would be nice), no swoop guide, case shape and size makes insertion and removal from a G3 a bit of a pain but of you get it in just the right position it's mostly unnoticeable in you helmet.

You can get the missing features in other units for the same Pryor less. I think L&B makes the most reliable and accurate units, however, so I'm willing to excuse the missing features.

In the future though, I would like to see L&B make a audible with 4 alarms and a tracking guide AND a swoop guide. Why should you have to choose between the Optima 2 and the Quattro. They're almost identical. Just add the missing swoop guide to the Quattro and you've got the absolute best feature set in the industry all a single package. And of course, make it ipx7 water proof because swoopers get wet.

I'm currently flying with one of these, but plan to add a 2nd soon.

  3. Great features; competitive price; wish it was waterproof (like other brands, and like the newest ADDs).

Quality: Great set of features, and pretty easy to navigate and configure. The 4th freefall alarm is great; most comparable units only have 3. The way it auto sorts your alarms by altitude makes setup fast. In the air, it's very easy to hear -- I left the volumes at the default levels but did alter the pitch a bit.

Durability: This unit is not waterproof, whereas similar units from other companies are.

    Price: Inline with similar products.

Negative: It's small, but it's still think enough that you feel it in a Cookie G3. There are smaller altimeters out there if your helmet is really tight. Otherwise, experiment with the orientation to find best fit and it's not too bad.

4 settings for freefall, 3 for canopy handling. Different profiles for different types of jumping. Crystal clear alarms. What more do you need?

I was using the Optima II and now have the Quattro as well. I love the extra alarm in Free Fall and only wish there was one extra in the canopy portion as well. The standard settings and processes are identical to the Optima II and the same great product from L&B. I love this thing.

i love this thing! I've never heard my 4th alarm but i love having an extra alarm for when i FF or if i am filming AFF it a quick reminder that the student is about to pull. You cant go wrong with this, the battery life for me has lasted about a year a 2 months before i replaced the battery.

The Quattro is my favorite audible as you can set 4 high speed alarms. This is great for bigger flocks when you need 2 break-off alarms. Even if you need 3 alarms, it's easy to change.

Improving on the Optima II the Quattro allows for an additional freefall warning for each of it's three banks. Originally designed for larger formations and sector break-offs, I find it very useful when on photography assignments to have more awareness during freefall to position myself for different compositions during the dive. The audible tones, both bold and distinctive, are always accurate and unmistakeable. The Quatro is one of the best acquisitions that I have added to my gear.
