Details:
★ Modern Design
The Orbit is a modern digital skydiving altimeter using durable components and top of the line electronics. It includes a full logbook to track critical data from each of your skydives.
★ Large Daylight Readable Display
The display is specifically designed to have excellent daylight viewing. And it has a wide viewing angle of 120 degrees horizontal and vertical. The display even works with polarized sunglasses (note, there is still a certain angle with polarized lenses that the
display will look entirely black).
★ Splash proof
Splash it in the pond, no worries. The Orbit is splash proof and can take a splash or a quick dunk in the pond.
★ Gorilla Glass Screen
Hardened glass that is scratch resistant. The same type of glass found on Garmin watches and high-end smartphones.
★ Aluminum Case
Looks good and durable too!
★ USB-C
The Orbit charges its battery via USB-C and also acts as a USB file system when connected to your computer via USB-C.
★ Fast Charging
Forgot to charge your altimeter for a month or two? No worries, plug in the Orbit for 20 minutes and you’ll have enough juice to jump for the rest of the day. Or fully charge the battery from 0% to 100% in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
★ Long Battery Life
What’s better than a fast charging altimeter? Long battery life! One year shelf life if the device is fully charged and powered off.
A skydiver who jumps every weekend should get roughly 4 months on a single charge. A pro training every day would have to skydive for over 4 weeks straight before charging the Orbit again.
★ Easy to View and Save Logbook
The latest 20 skydives can easily be viewed directly from the Orbit’s logbook screen.
The full logbook is a comma separated file, accessible on your computer or phone by simply connecting the device using a USB cable. When the Orbit is in USB Connect mode, it will show up as a drive. Easily view your full logbook, which can hold 60,000+ skydives, on your favorite spreadsheet program or logbook software.
★ Automatic Off (Shutdown)
The Orbit will automatically shut off 14 hours after it was turned on for the day. This is done to save battery and can extend the “shelf life” of the device by over 50%. The Orbit will not shut down unless it is at ground level when the 14 hour time limit is reached.
★ Automatic Display Lighting
The Orbit will automatically enable the display light when the ambient lighting is dim or completely dark. There is no menu option to turn on the night light mode. The night light turns on when the altimeter detects that it is descending (while in freefall or under a canopy). It is not enabled by default while sitting on the ground in order to save battery. However, pressing any button will temporarily light up the screen for 15 seconds if the ambient light is dim. There is also a menu option to turn on the light on permanently if the automatic feature isn’t appropriate for your specific skydive.
