A Cutting-Edge 1” Sensor
The new 1” sensor enables professional-grade image quality and low-light performance. It leverages cutting-edge Simultaneous Dual-Gain Readout, sampling each pixel at multiple conversion gains to process shadow and highlight details simultaneously. Unlike traditional multi-frame HDR, this sensor-level approach captures extended dynamic range in a single exposure, eliminating ghosting and temporal artifacts while reducing power consumption. The result is unmatched clarity and balance, even in fast-moving or demanding lighting conditions.

Why Size Matters
This sensor features a larger surface area, larger native 1.6µm pixels and massive 3.2µm fused pixels in Quad Bayer mode, enabling it to capture significantly more light. This makes it capable of brighter, sharper images with improved dynamic range, and allows it to perform in challenging lighting conditions with high contrast. This isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a transformation in how you capture the world.

What Is Open Gate Video?
Utilizing the full potential of the brand new 1” sensor, Open Gate video captures a taller frame in 4:3 for both 8K30 and 4K120 on MISSION 1 PRO and MISSION 1 PRO ILS. With such a high resolution capture, you can effortlessly crop videos to 16:9 for widescreen or vertical 9:16 for Reels and TikTok in seconds. You can also choose digital lenses, reframe shots, zoom, even boost stabilization, all without losing quality.  And photographers can pull up to 44MP photos right from video.

Or utilize Quad Bayer mode and shoot 12MP RAW with dual-gain, which combines nearby pixels to create brighter, cleaner photos, making it ideal for low-light environments. All this in a compact, rugged, point-and-shoot style camera built for any environment.

GP3 sets a new standard with support for stunning 8K60 resolution and ultra-high frame rates, allowing creators to capture crisp, detailed footage and exceptionally smooth slow motion. Whether you're filming fast action or cinematic vistas, this processor ensures every shot is rendered with incredible clarity and fidelity.

MISSION 1 Series cameras use new high-capacity Enduro 2 batteries, which provide longer runtimes, improved thermal performance, and faster charging. You can use HERO13 Black Enduro batteries as backups, but they won't provide the extended run-times and won't support fast charging. Enduro 2 batteries are also backward compatible with select HERO Black models.

Thanks to the GP3 processor, advanced hardware optimization, and the higher-capacity Enduro 2 battery with fast-charging, you’ll get the longest continuous runtimes and most dependable thermal performance of any GoPro ever. 
 
Some approximate recording times include:

• Up to 5 hours at 1080p/30 (Endurance Mode)
• 3+ hours at 4K/30
• Up to 1.5 hours at 8K/30

MISSION 1 Series cameras require a microSD card with an A2 (Application Performance Class 2) rating, which maintain smooth recording, faster load times, and reliable overall performance. A1 rated cards are not supported.

The MISSION 1 PRO is waterproof up to 66ft (20m) depth without the need of a housing.
