My experience on the wing- ~300 jumps on a 107 at ~1.8:1.

I went from over 1000 jumps on a same sized Stiletto, and was expecting to fly a "Stiletto 2" when I tried out the Katana. I was expecting a little better openings, a little more bottom end, and a little longer recovery arc to suite the newer style of swooping. Overall I expected it to be a slightly improved Stiletto, and I was wrong!

It was much more like a Velo minus that it was a Stiletto plus.

It is the most aggressive non cross braced canopy I have flown. Here is a quick top to bottom review-
Openings- super soft! Long snivel and slow slider decent.

Range- She comes out of the sky pretty quickly, but flattens out very well on rears and in brakes. I could fly more slowly under the Katana than under the Stiletto, and didn't have any trouble getting back.

Front Risers- I've never jumped a canopy that will dive as readily as a Katana. From full flight, just look at a front riser and she will take off. For grins, I used to do 360s up high doing riser turns with just one finger in the dive loop. VERY light front riser pressure, and she likes to dive.

Toggles- People say they turn slower than a stiletto on toggles...but that wasn't my experience. To me, it felt just like a stiletto (assuming brakes set the same) on toggle turns.

Recovery- She dives! She likes to stay in a dive and doesn't like to porpus if you turn too high. I really like this because it keeps people from turning harder and lower to keep from leveling out too high. For a while I was jumping a Katana 107 and Velo 96 back to back. Once you got them both diving, the recovery was pretty similar (see note on rears below). If you turn this like you would a Stiletto, you are going to have a bad day.

Rear risers- For landing, the rears are are softer than than a Velo, but still pretty powerful.

Landing- More bottom end and better slow flight than a Stiletto, less than a Velo.

Overall, I really enjoyed this wing!
