JYRO JFX 2 Canopy.

Maximize the good times and minimize the risk with a super playful crossbraced wing that cranks the fun up to 11. The JFX 2 is the go-to canopy to start your swooping journey or do-it-all wing with power for days.

The original JFX is already so good at what she does; opens beautifully, is fun to hoon around in the sky, and gives you the choice of a gentle straight in landing with lots of flare power or a full blown hissing swoop.

Version 2.0 hasn't been a radical redesign. The JFX 2 stays true to all the things you love, but now has all the kickass features you know and want: Powerband, mini-ribs and sail loaded ribs.

Think crossbraced performance with Crossfire type ease. Cranking turns, raging swoops, gentle touchdowns...the JFX 2 can do it all and do it well. For pilots wanting to expand their skills, and those flying small elliptical 9-cells who couldn't be bothered with a crossbraced canopy before now - this is your wing.

You'll want to load her up slightly (think 1.8 to 2.8) and she'll let you throw her around in the air and on the ground.

Her perfect combo of effortless control and go-anywhere performance is sure to put a smile on your face.

The JFX was the last of the JYRO canopies to be designed purely by Jyro's keen eye, 35+ years of experience and the inspiration of a few too many Heinekens. She was a new school wing done the old school way and like many classic things, she reeks of quality and reliability.

With the JFX 2 NZA added a touch of fancy parametric curves and French Aerodynamic genius to her already smooth openings and toe-dragging charm.

The result? Incredible aerodynamics, refined performance and uncompromised aesthetics.

Powerband
Of course she gets a Powerband, are you kidding?! The JFX 2 is joining the Powerband party with the rest of the Icarus range. Debuted on Petra, the Powerband lets JYRO control the shape of the top surface of the wing more accurately, especially at the crucial leading edge where around 90% of lift is made!

Minybrid Construction (Sail loaded ribs)
A low-pack-volume take on the hybrid construction of a Leia, the JFX 2 pioneers the minimal hybrid (Minybrid) wing. The loaded ribs - the ones the lines are attached to that experience the highest amount of stress and distortion - are made of sail fabric. This reduces rib distortion, helping the wing maintain its shape through all flight profiles, increasing glide, stability and responsiveness. For construction reasons, these sail ribs will be white - but you can colour the non-loaded ribs and crossbraces however you like!

Mini-ribs
JYRO included mini ribs in the tail just like Petra and Leia. These little additions decrease trailing edge drag, which has the function of increasing glide and flare performance - both things you can never get enough of! Oh, and they look pretty awesome too, all matchy matchy with the colour you pick for the powerband!

21-chamber design
The JFX 2's sleek fully elliptical 21-chamber design captures the smoothed staged openings of the traditional 7-cell. She's crisp and responsive, yet it does not feel tense and edgy, and packs some punch at the bottom end.

Crossbracing
Don't be fooled by how user-friendly this wing is. She holds all the benefits of her power enhancing, drag-reducing crossbracing. She's gentle on openings, but she has an aggressive crossbraced swoop.

Closed Center Chamber
Inherited originally from the FX and VX, then redesigned for the JVX, the closed center chamber nose was the innovation that allowed crossbraced canopies to become popular by softening the openings, controlling distortion and improving aerodynamics. It's not the latest but probably one of the most important of Jyro's contributions to modern canopy design.

High performance lines
Vectran 500 is standard, or you can choose a Vectran 400 if you are going for less drag, and don't mind relining your canopy more often.

Custom Sizing
Parachutes aren't a one size fits all. The JFX 2 is available in any size from 69 to 119 so that you can get the perfect wingloading for you at this stage in your canopy progression.

What can you expect when you fly your brand new JFX 2 for the first time?
First time flying a crossbraced wing? Your shaking hands will be steadied by the most predictable opening you've ever experienced, intuitive flight characteristics and stacks of flare. The JFX2 is the smoothest transition to high performance wings. Loaded light or heavy she delivers consistently. If you've flown a JFX before you can expect a mix of the familiar with the new. The JFX 2 builds on all the positive vibes you got from your JFX, with the addition of more "energy".

Who is the JFX 2 for?
The JFX 2 is perfect for experienced 9-cell elliptical pilots already pushing their wingloading on a non-crossbraced wing, who are looking for their first crossbraced canopy (with the supervision of a canopy coach) to expand their piloting skills safely. She's a wonderful all-rounder that packs a serious punch for the weekend warrior, the team jumper, or the full time camera flyer.

Openings
Forget the stigma attached to crossbraced canopies - JFX 2 openings are predictable, soft and not scary! Reliable, consistent and stunning as always, openings are the ace card of this canopy.

Harness Inputs
Inputs are light and instinctive, and very responsive. She can be flown entirely on harness with ease - we actually prefer to fly a lot of harness with the JFX 2.

Toggles
Powerful and responsive even at the bottom end - even more so than the original JFX.

Stall Point
The slow flight characteristics are hugely improved from the original JFX. The stall points is slower and lower - get plenty of feedback and warning, both on toggles and rears.

Rears
You can trust them! You feel very connected and it's stable enough to give you fair warning before stalling. Rears are light and instinctive, the perfect option for long swoops.

Fronts
Loaded high, lightly and even underloaded (light girls transitioning onto crossbraced wings, we feel your pain!), you'll love the feedback of the JFX 2 fronts. You're gonna need to slow the canopy down a little before your turn to reduce the pressure, but they are very effective for getting into the dive.

Performance
There is more than just a subtle improvement here - the wing feels fresh and re-energised. The JFX 2 is fun and predictable from opening to landing. Loaded lightly or highly you'll never feel too far out of your comfort zone.

Dive/Recovery
The dive on the JFX 2 is longer than the original JFX, but not as long as Leia. It's easy to get this thing into a dive and maintain it. And with a slow, predictable (and easily adjustable) recovery arc, the JFX 2 is ideal to get those bigger rotations dialed in.

Flare
The bottom end flare is immense! Overall, the JFX 2 has more range and has the ability to fly slower - which means it stalls later, and has more flare. Trust us, you won't feel like you're lacking stopping power. Just another ace card retained (and improved) from the original JFX.

It's an amazing canopy, no doubt. It's not the newest, fastest competition level cross-braced canopy but it is absolutely still a legit wing in every way. Looking at the wing it has stabilizers, isn't super tapered and doesn't have a powerband like Leia or Petra but don't let that fool you, she's still on top of it. My opinion after 200 jumps is I'll keep mine for a while or maybe even go down a step or two before I move to something faster. Mine is a JFX 94 and has sweet openings (nearly as good as a Crossfire), has an insane amount of flare power and is really strong on the rears with a lot of range. It has yet to dump me on my ass but that said, play with the rears up high until you're comfortable with them. All in all, yes, I do want to go up to a Leia or Valkyrie one day but for now my JFX is perfect for me.
