Wedge Mudflap Altimeter Mount.
The Wedge is the only mudflap altimeter mount that is customized to either side of nearly any rig with any mudflap shape for any altimeter.
Chest-strap altimeter mounts tend to move to the left or to the right, as well as up and down, thus making it impossible to check the altitude at a quick glance. Hand-mounted altimeters also have their problems. Freeflyers, using their arms/hands for moving around the sky, docking and stability, have to bring an arm forward, in order to check the altitude. And looking at the altimeter while tracking away is virtually impossible. In the past, the Golden Knights also faced these problems. Mike Daughtry, at that time a member of Knights, developed this unique altimeter mount in order to avoid all the above described problems.
The Wedge is manufactured exclusively for ChutingStar. Final modifications for your individual configuration are completed at ChutingStar before shipping.
Please note: When ordering, the straight or slanted designation has to do with the angle of the bottom of the mudflap on your container. It does not indicate the altimeter angle. The slanted configuration is for most Vector, Curv and Wings containers (and older Talons). Most other containers have a straight mudflap configuration. Select your container in the dropdown menu and enter in the length of your mudflap in inches so we can confirm the configuration ordered will fit. You will also select the side of your rig you will be mounting your Wedge on, the width of your chest strap (1" or 1 23/32") and the side of your chest strap adapter (metal buckle where you thread your chest strap through). All of this info enables us to send the correct configuration of the Wedge so it can be installed properly on your container.
The Wedge includes a stretch pocket on the back, which can be filled with a variable spacer foam, in order to correct any altimeter misalignment due to different rig configurations and body proportions. Also included is a 1" (narrow) or 1 23/32” (wide) Uni-Loop that is attached with an elastic strap. Now the chest strap can be routed through this Uni-Loop, keeping the mount close to the body. Freeflyers appreciate this feature as the mount is not pushed up by the wind while standing up. The elastic strap may be adjusted in length with a variable Velcro attachment, to handle different rig configurations.
The optional DigiPouch is for digital altimeters like the Ares, Ion, Atlas, N3, Viso, Atlas and GFX. The DigiPouch includes a clear plastic screen, Spandex® and Velcro® attachment straps, as well as a PVC stiffener plate for the Wedge and angle adjustment foam wedge.
There is also an optional Altitrack Wedge Mount attachment. If you want to mount an Altitrack to your Wedge, add the separately available Altitrack Mounting Kit for the Wedge.
To mount a Dekunu One altimeter, add the Dekunu One Velcro Pocket Bumper Attachment, which can be attached to the Wedge.
Note: The optional DigiPouch and Alitrack attachments shown in some photos are not included in the base Wedge item, and need to be added separately to your order, if needed. The base Wedge comes with everything needed to mount an analog altimeter. Digital altimeters and the Altitrack need the additional parts.
The Wedge is available in black, royal blue, navy blue and red. The webbing has a width of 1 7/8".
Please allow up to 2 business days for shipment so final modifications can be completed for your specific rig setup.

Perfect for wingsuiting, and a great use for my old analog altimeter.Perfect for wingsuiting. I mounted my Parasport by making some double-sided, industrial adhesive Velcro straps a couple inches long. I mounted the straps on the altimeter by simply folding the adhesive Velcro over so that it sticks to itself -- one strap is all the "fuzzy" Velcro, the other strap is all "spiky" Velcro. Then the two straps fold over each other, under the mounting area on The Wedge, sandwiching one strap. It's not going anywhere, and it's perfectly position.
Tip: If using an analog altimeter, mount it so that the "12 o'clock" position is pointed towards your left shoulder. That way, the part of the dial that tracks from 6,000' down (the part that matters most) is the most clearly visible, and not blocked by any part of your harness or helmet.Posted on

Excellent design!Just started wingsuit'n and had to get rid of the wrist altimeter. This is excellent; easy to install and remove at the end of the day for rig packing, stays in place during the flight. I nub it!

Stay altitude aware!Freefly or Wingsuit this mount allows you to stay altitude aware when your bodyflight conditions may keep for being able to check a wrist mounted Alti. This mount is extremely versatile in that you can mount pretty much ANY Alti you have.

Does exactly what its supposed to. Great product.Awesome. I fly a Wings rig so the advice on which type of wedge to get was awesome... make sure you pay attention to it when ordering. Built like a brick shit house, feels indestructible, fits so solidly it'll take you by surprise. After flying my Altitrack on my wrist for years it takes a few jumps/flights to get used to but especially when wingsuiting this thing just makes checking your altitude visually soooooo much better. Speaking of which, I also bought the Altitrack retrofitting accessories (sold separately) which also work great. Wingsuiters especially, stop reading and buy it.

Buy a Wedge you will be happyI love this mount. In Fact I have only taken it off twice since I bought it. I do lots of wingsuiting and this hold my Alti-2 N3 perfectly. The design allows me to fly bigger wingsuits both in a belly and backfly position and never loose sight of my N3. I leave it on even when I don't wingsuit and my eyes can easily scan and view my altitude. I like this over wearing a hand mount for wingsuiting as I don't have to compromise my flying position and I can go faster without having to bring my hands into check all the time.
The Velcro is super easy to use and gives me the ability to change it out quickly if I wanted to put it on my other rig. I mounted the Alti-2 hard case which has a cut out to charge my device while still attached so there are no excuses to why you have to remove it! Plain and simple buy a Wedge.Posted on

Great mount but a bit pricyI got this to have an extra altimeter mounted to my rig so I could see my altitude while tracking or wingsuiting. It's sturdy, and well made and will not come off your rig without a significant effort (which is exactly what is desired). There are little foam wedges to allow you to angle the altimeter for easy viewing withing the mount regardless of which side you put it on your rig.
