Silirings stow bands by ParaSport Italia.
Silrings are round silicone stow bands for your suspension lines and come 10 to a pack in a single size. Silirings work great on HMA, Vectran and Spectra line because of how small they are in circumference. The larger sizes are made for larger Tandem Dacron and Vectran lines.
See the chart for the best size for your canopy. Most of the time combining two sizes works best with using a larger size for the first one or two locking stows and then a smaller size for the remainder.
Silirings have been tested in the field using extreme jumping conditions and the results have been spectacular. Silicone has proven to be far superior to other products when used in adverse skydiving environments -- hot/cold/dry/humid. They do not get sticky or dirty and have a comfortable elasticity. Though they seem to be pricey initially, they will last for an indefinite number of jumps when used in normal jumping conditions and quickly pay for themselves with ease of use and low maintenance.
You must activate the Silirings before use – stretch them repeatedly before installation (this makes them more malleable). Silirings do not need to be tight like rubber bands – they are designed to break if they are too tight.

Manufacturer Notes: Silirings are not made from the same material as tube stows or rubber bands and have different qualities. They have no rubber in them. They are made of silicone. The stows do not need to be as tight on the lines to hold them in place or deploy them properly. Rarely is Size 1 used for deployment - most often used is size 2, or a 2 and 3 combination for smaller rigs. The hot ticket for first use is to activate the bands and stow your lines on the bag - then walk the bag back away from the rig to see how the lines deploy - not too fast to cause line dump but not to slow to cause breakage. It should be easier than standard rubber bands. It should not be difficult to pull your lines through these bands. Silibands have a much longer shelf life than rubber bands and also tolerate more severe heat and cold. They typically outlast other stows and bands and are used by the military for deployment of large chutes for special ops.

Poor qualityI bought these to get a new habit of using tubestows, since it was a rubber band shortage. Even after stretching them and warming them up, they broke before they got in the air. I’m so disappointed.

Snapped on first useI purchased these to use for my Tandem rig, in hopes that they would last longer than regular bands. To my disappointment one broke while trying to pre-stretch like the instructions suggest, I then preceded to put a few more on my rig and another broke on the first use. Apart from breaking, they also do not have much stretch so stowing lines is a little more cumbersome.

Nice material. Ill conceived productization.I bought size 3, hoping I could double wrap my locking stowes but they're too small. I used a spring scale and found that a single wrap through a closing stow could be unstowed with too little force, and double stowing is not an option. I considered getting size 2 and single wrapping, but honestly, it freaks me out a little that these likely will not break if you need them too.
This product would be much better with more throrough instructions and sizing guides. Are they designed to be single or double wraped? No idea. Should the extraction force for these be the same as for rubber band, or more since they grip the lines far less? No idea.Posted on
