The Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye is a full-frame fisheye auto focus lens that fills the entire 35mm negative with a full 180 degree diagonal field of view. This unique lens enables you to create a variety of unusual compositions even when shooting ordinary subjects. The Lens fits the Canon EOS cameras.
The improved DG lens coating reduces flare and ghosting, which is a common problem of digital cameras, and also creates an optimum color balance. Since most Digital SLR cameras use a smaller image sensor size (APS-C) than 35mm film cameras, 180 degree angle-of-view can not be obtained with Digital SLR cameras. With those cameras only the center part of the frame is used, therefore, peripheral distortion will be very small.
The super wide angle of this lens makes it ideal for use with digital SLR cameras, providing a focal view of approximately 23mm.
Accepts removable gelatin filters in a holder near the rear of the lens. Optical material used in this new lens are lead and arsenic free ecological glass.

With that being said, I love Sigma Primes. Of the six primes I own, 5 of them are Sigma (except my 15) so I was curious in trying this out of a friend. I will say it is respectably sharp (even at 2.8) in the corners on a 5dMkII. There is about a stop of vignetting in all around wide open (which is expected and not surprising for any fast glass wide open) and isn't much of a problem to correct in post. Lack of USM hurts but again, with the minimum forcusing distance being about 6" and hyperfocal distance being around 5 ft, one might as well just shoot in manual. It should be noted that this is a very popular lens even in wedding photography by guys like Gene Ho and Hoffer Photography. It will be my replacement when my Canon 15 finally meets it's maker.
