The Cookie FlySight Mount for externally mounting this audible GPS.

Note: This mount fits both the original FlySight 1 and new FlySight 2.

This FlySight Mount fits the G3, G4, Fuel and other similar shaped helmets.

The FlySight Mount is mounted with 4 screws, while the Flysight is held in place using an elastic bungee. The shape of this mount allows access to the USB jack, 3.5mm jack and on/off button.

The Flysight can be removed when not in use, leaving only the mount on the helmet.

Developed by Cookie for the G3 helmet with help from Jay Moldeski. Primarily it was designed around the profile of the G3 helmet however it will fit similar profiled helmets like the G4 and Fuel. The best way to install is to position the mount for the best location before getting the drill out to drill the mounting holes.

Flysight Audible GPS not included, but can be ordered separetly from ChutingStar.

Notes on mount compatibility between the Flysight 1 and FlySight 2:

The FlySight 2 has the same footprint as the FlySight 1, so it is compatible with the FlySight 1 aluminum mounts as well as the Cookie FlySight mount. However, it is not compatible with mounts like the one from Adrenaline Workshop, which enclose the entire unit, as the new case is a little taller on one end than the old one.

The new FlySight 2 Mount is not compatible with FlySight 1 units. The FlySight 2 slides onto posts at the front of the new mount, then rotates down and clicks into place at the back like a ski boot. The FlySight 2 is released by pulling back on the tab, either by hand or using the included tool.

The curve on the bottom of the FlySight 2 mounts is the same as the original FlySight 110/110 mounts, which should fit most helmets. Unfortunately, it was not possible to produce this new mount with several different curvatures, but the manufacturer is looking into 3D printed spacers to adapt the mount for helmets with different shapes.

G4 Note: The G4 Helmet is certified to a Skydiving and Wind Tunnel Helmet Standard. To achieve this standard, helmets must pass Impact and Snag Resistance testing. While the FlySight Mount is a good fit against the top surface of the G4, it was not tested according to the XP S 72-600 Standard. Cookie believes that having a FlySight fitted to the G4 helmet would forgo the Snag Test in this standard. It is up to the user to decide whether to mount a FlySight to the G4 helmet knowing that by doing so, it could affect the way the helmet performs when tested to the XP S 72-600 Standard. Since Cookie knows many users will assume the risk of adding mounts onto the G4, they have included a trap-door cutout in the EPP foam for the user to gain access to the top of the shell to add the FlySight Mount.

Mount is ok but not great. It tends to bind when installing the screws. First use and the base cracked at the bottom all the way through. Still works but rather disappointed that the installation puts a bind on the screws which in turn makes the mount too tight causing the crack.

Flysight mount has screws that the Allen wrench doesn't fit. I'm not happy, all of the screws are stripped because the Allen wrench provided is the wrong size. What a joke, R&D should have picked up on this. Don't waste your money on this mount.

Great product, BUT..... I ordered it for the G4 at the same time I ordered a G4 and found out the hard way that this can not be mounted to the back of the helmet above the vents unless you were to chissel out the hard foam in the helmet. So, if you are getting this for a G4, know that it is either this or a camera mount, unless you seriously want to modify your helmet.

Seems to be very well made. It fits onto the back of my Bonehead Rev2 very well.

The mount fit the curved surface of my Cookie G3 perfectly. The FlySight fits very snug inside of it and it also fits perfectly. The elastic strap is tight enough that I am not worried about losing the FlySight.

I believe the durability of the mount is sufficient. You are mounting a piece of electronics in it, so certainly you are not planning on high impact to it.

It is not difficult to mount if you are not a moron. This is the approach I recommend:
    1. Remove the liner, pads, etc from inside of helmet.
    2. Place wide making tape on your helmet where you want the mount.
    3. Place the mount on top of the masking tape.
    4. Push the tip of a black Sharpie thru the 4 holes of the mount.
    5. Using the mount as a guide, find the largest drill bit that will fit thru the mount's holes.
    6. Set the mount aside and drill the 4 holes on the 4 black dots.
    7. Remove the masking tape. Place the mount. Put the screws thru the holes and attach.
    8. Replace the liner, pads, etc.

Easy to break during installation, hard to match external and internal parts when assembling. Strongly advise an adhesive mount.
