Description

The ChutingStar Gear Bag for skydivers!

The ChutingStar Gear Bag was developed after Dakine stopped making the popular Cargo Pack Gear Bag. It is modeled after that popluar gear bag, but we've added extra features and reinforcements making it one of the best gear bags in the industry!

Our ChutingStar Skydiving Gear Bag has one large compartment for your rig in back as well as a front compartment for your skydiving gear accessories and jumpsuit. Our gear bag has side straps to keep the rig or accessories from hanging off your back. There is a small inner zip pocket for your wallet or smaller items inside the small compartment at the top. Carry handles are located on the top, side and bottom front. Hideaway padded shoulder straps and a small chest strap are included. Your luggage tag or business card can be stored in the frosted see-thru pocket on the back.

Made with large-tooth zippers and 900D Polyester + PVC materials.

ChutingStar's Gear Bag is manufactured in a size of 24" x 16" x 13". It will fit most rigs up to a canopy size of 230 with plenty of extra room for multiple jumpsuits and accessories.

Available in Black only with ChutingStar logos and zipper tags. Get the matching ChutingStar Helmet Bag too!

Strong like Harambe, beautiful like Marilyn Monroe, and refuses to die like Bob Barker (this may need to be changed to Sir David Attenborough soon)
Alright, where do I start?

This bag is a beast. I bought it back in 2011 or 2012. I am sure most people to transport it dropzone to dropzone. That's great. Very durable. I have had this bag in 12 different countries and used it as carry on with rig and laptop inside.

I have used this for gear, rigs, suits, beer, towels, clothes, and groceries. Yup. Groceries. This bad mother fucker keeps shit cold. The inside lining is actually similar to the inside of a lunch box so it can keep that rotisserie chicken warm (chuck for my Ozzie Brothers from down under) or your beer cold. Don't try both at the same time. Physics, math or biology makes both luke warm after a short period of time.

The only downside is that, in my case, the space on the zippers for the rubber tabs are a tiny bit too far apart and the tabs can come off sporadically. I just put them back on like its no big deal and this didn't start happening until a year or so after using it so it's probably my fault. Too many Dumbbell curls. Strength getting away from me. Regardless, after only about 4000 zip ups the rubber tabs will lose their sweet Chuting Star logo colour and start to crack. I need one to be replaced from usage and one for losing it. After about 4 years the interior is starting to come apart and slowly flake off in pieces.

Wicked gear bag, not a SINGLE loose thread after 4-5 years. Can easily fit a beginner big rig and all accessories to start because this badass can extend open or squeeze up tight. Honestly you could probably fit quite a few babies inside of it. 5-6 at least. Great for room. The straps can be hidden as well.

Brilliant and resilient. I'll likely get another once this baby ends up turning to dust.

Every skydiver needs one of these!
This gear bag is very sturdy with heavy duty zippers on both rig and accessories compartments complimented with easy to grip large rubber pull tabs. All seams are finished with binding tape so there are no raw edges exposed that could unravel over time. There is a hidden zipper pocket at the top inside of the accessories compartment. The accessories compartment is roomy enough for jumpsuit(s) and extra stuff like sweatshirt, thermal underwear, gloves, goggles and such. The rig compartment is lined with what appears to be a water proof tarp like material and should accommodate most sport rigs packed or not. There are 3 sturdy handles for lifting, loading or carrying. The backpack has adjustable shoulder straps and allow for toting on one or both shoulders with a chest strap if you need it otherwise the shoulder straps can be tucked away in a zippered compartment. Adjustable cinch straps with squeeze buckles allow the pack to be compressed or expanded as needed. There is also a rubberized see through pouch for owner information or business card. The embroidered ChutingStar logo on back and one side looks good. I would definitely recommend this gear bag.

Nice bag overall but needs some work
The buckle slider that goes across your chest broke on the first use. The layout of the shoulder straps makes it awkward to carry on your shoulders. However, I like the adjustable straps on the outside of the bag to allow you to compress everything down. This allowed me to use it as carry-on as I had no desire to send my rig through checked baggage. It would also be nice with a couple extra inside or ourside pockets for pull-up cords, glasses, log book, etc.

Awesome gear bag at an excellent price!
This is an awesome gear bag. My Wings container (210 main, 190 reserve) fits with room to spare. I'm able to fits two helmets, and a few other accessories in with my rig, and probably have room to put a jumpsuit in there (whenever I get one). There is actually a small pocket within the second large fold, which provides enough room to store your altimeter and googles. The bag itself is incredibly durable, easy to grip and move, and comfortable to haul around on your back. An awesome gear bag at an awesome price!

Decent, but flawed
I think the biggest oversight in the design of this bag is no smaller internal pockets to store things like altis, goggles, your keys/wallet, etc. It just has the 2 big pockets, and everything goes in together. It would have been really nice to have separate pockets for small items. It's something so basic that I didn't even question when I bought it, I just assumed they'd of course be there.

The bag overall seems plenty durable, except that the tab on one of the zippers tore into 2 pieces almost immediately after I started using it. I have to use the other zipper to open the bag now.

So it's a decent bag, but I don't think I'd buy this one again.

ChutingStar Note: The current version of this bag does have a small inner pocket in the inside top of the bag for altimeters, goggles, keys/wallet and the like. Plus you can put items in the back pocket that hold the shoulder straps.

Just great
My rig fits perfectly inside the standard size bag, and I can add all my jump clothing for the week-end.
And If I don't pack too much stuff inside, I can fly it in cabin with me when taking the plane :)

Perfect Bag
This gear bag is just great: i can easily put my rig in there, got 2 jumpsuits, swimmingpants, a lot of accessories and even my g3 in there and there is still quite some space left. The straps at the sides help to keep the profile low if you don't have that much stuff in there. It's also very comfortable to carry.

Great Bag.
Large holds a ton of stuff and is very durable for heavier loads.
Can fit a container and quite a few jumpsuits/helmets/camera gear and still has a little room.
I can actually fit both of my small containers and other gear in the large bag which is awesome.
