The Sensei by Aerodyne is a 21-cell cross-braced high performance canopy, catering to the experienced canopy pilot who not only likes to swoop the farthest, but also likes predictable and soft openings. The Sensei is a partnership between the innovative design skills of Brian Germain, and Aerodyne’s outstanding production capabilities. The Sensei has been extensively tested and tweaked to the max over the last 10 years, making the Sensei Project the longest test-piloting program of any ram air canopy in history. In order to shave some of the high magnitudes of drag experienced at high speeds, the Sensei has a 21-cell cross-braced design. This makes it a beautiful wing shape, hung on the lines of a seven cell. Twenty-eight tiny but incredibly strong suspension lines made from High Modular Aramid, coated for extra wear-resistance, are utilized for the preservation of energy during your swoop. The exquisitely sculpted Airfoil is a novel “Fat-Tail” design, with a greater thickness at the trailing edge of the wing to create superior stability in rear risers, especially when pulling high “G’s” around the corner, down in the power-band. The reduced span at the trailing edge magnifies the toggle power by allowing earlier effect on the center cells as tail tension is applied. The Sensei comes with 500 HMA lines in sizes 81, 91, 101, 111 and 121 sq ft. Also available on the Sensei is the Aerodyne-exclusive zero porosity canopy fabric called ZPX. This honeycomb structured fabric is thinner and lighter, yet stronger than the regular ZP fabric we all know. This creates two great features: a 15 to 20% smaller pack volume (in comparison to a same sized ZP canopy) and a much easier pack job on even a brand new canopy (It feels like you are packing a 500-jump ZP canopy).
