The Atomic's low-profile Padlock is recessed into the side of the helmet creating a snag free side mount solution. The Padlock release plate boasts the ability to quickly remove the camera, face the camera backwards or infinitely change the camera angles +/- 15 degrees. This solutions allows the helmet configuration to suit all of the camera flying disciplines.
For the CX110/150 cameras, Cookie offers the Roto Plate, which still allows the camera angle adjustments +/- 15 degrees. The Roto Plate gives room for the HypEye D Pro plug in access, which is not available with the Padlock. The Roto Plate is not a quick-release system.
The Atomic helmet with the Roto Plate is $375. Select the Padlock Plate ($50) if you want the quick release plate option (not recommended with CX150 side-mount).
The Atomic open camera helmet boasts:
Carbon fiber outer shell and d3o incorporated liner
High performance shell design with increased forehead protection
Padlock quick-release system with a 90mm x 90mm (3.5" x 3.5") mounting surface
Optional Roto Lock Mounting system
Dual internal audible altimeter pockets
Force chincup and chinstrap
The ability to add a flatlock for a top camera mounting solution
The d3o liner in the Atomic helmet is a specially engineered material made with intelligent molecules. They flow with you as you move but on shock lock together to absorb the impact energy. Traditional skydiving helmet liners are made from a range of material like PE and EVA with an exterior comfort covering. While these materials are fantastic for thermo forming and comfort, its ability to transmit impact forces is limiting. The d3o material surpasses other materials in its ability to transmit forces.
The Atomic is made of carbon fiber with multiple shell sizes to keep the camera as close to your head as possible. We stock the Atomic with the cutaway option and the standard force chincup setup.
Carbon fiber finish is standard, other colors and paint are available for an extra $60. Any color you can supply a sample of is available from Cookie.
Available sizes include: xsmall (20.5-21.25"), small (21.25-22"), medium (22-22.5"), large (22.5-23.5"), xlarge (23.5-24") and xxlarge (24-24.75").
ChutingStar stocks all sizes of the Atomic in carbon fiber, as well as all Cookie accessories, for immediate shipment. The turnaround time on a painted Atomic helmet is 2 weeks. -
