The Optimum Reserve canopy by Performance Designs not only exceeds the stringent standards of TSO C23d and packs far smaller than any other reserve available, but it also flies and lands far more like a main parachute. It has the most powerful flare of any reserve we have ever tried.
The Optimum Reserve is a rectangular 7-Cell canopy available in sizes 99, 106, 113, 126, 143, 160, 176, 193, 218, 235 and 253 square feet. The Performance Designs Velocity is designed specifically to satisfy those pilots who have already been jumping high performance elliptical canopies at relatively high wing loadings, for some time, and are looking for something more.
The Velocity is not a canopy for everyone. Pilots of the 7-cell cross-braced Velocity can easily achieve an incredibly steep dive with front riser turns. If long, high speed swoop landings are your thing, the Velocity will really impress you with its ability to turf surf incredible distances, while still allowing you to slow down more than any other canopy of a given size. The Velocity’s landings are so incredible, you will find yourself making jumps just so that you can land it again.
Available in sizes of 79, 84, 90, 96, 103, 111 and 120 square feet.

Immediately after the release of the Velocity in 1999, PD continued its research on design technology with the goal of exceeding what they had accomplished with the Velocity. PD thought "out of the box" on much of the research, changing stabilizers or eliminating them altogether, adding two to four cells, trying new bracing technology, new airfoils and planform shapes. Many of these changes did improve performance, and to put it mildly, some didn't. The culmination of those last ten years of research and development has brought on the release of the Competition Velocity.
Highlights include Low Drag Line attachment points, Low-Profile PCA, 300 HMA, RDS and performance improvements in the design. This is not a replacement of the Velocity, but a higher-performance canopy with extra standard features for competition canopy pilots.
Available in sizes of 71, 79, 84, 90, 96, 103 and 111 square feet.

The Silhouette is a 9-cell canopy that uses of both zero porosity and low porosity fabrics. The Silhouette is easy to pack due to the combination of fabrics. It has consistent openings and excellent glide ratio.
The Silhouette displays more responsive handling characteristics than traditional 9-cell canopies at equivalent wing loadings. It has a fast turn rate, while maintaining predictable turn recovery. The landings on the Silhouette are superb.

The Sabre2 is a 9-cell semi-elliptical design that emerged from 15 years of ongoing research and development by Performance Designs. The Sabre2 has soft openings along with a crisp response to toggle input and light toggle and riser pressure.
When it comes to landings, you will be amazed with the incredible amount of lift available on landing. This lift gives the Sabre2 pilot a tremendous ability to slow down when you wish to. The Sabre2 will feel aggressive at higher wing loadings while maintaining its incredible ease of landing and forgiveness at lower wing loadings. The Sabre2’s performance envelope is huge.

The Spectre is a 7-cell tapered zero porosity canopy known for its slow, soft and on-heading openings. The Spectre glides better than many nine cell canopies. It also has a smaller pack volume than 9-cell canopies.

The Storm is the latest 7-cell canopy from Performance Designs. It is a slightly-tapered, 7-cell zero-porosity main canopy that takes the design of the PD Spectre to the next level. The openings of the Storm are comparable to the Spectre in that it tends to be soft and on-heading, but with a slightly quicker inflation. In full flight the Storm will have greater speed than the Spectre, giving it more of the flight “feel” of a Sabre2. The Storm is very quick and agile, but it floats along nicely in deep brakes as well.
The Storm will dive longer and lose more altitude in a turn than a comparable sized Stiletto or Silhouette, but not quite as much as a Sabre2. The front riser pressure of the Storm is slightly higher than that of the Spectre, but requires less input to receive the same response. In comparison to a Lightning the riser pressure is higher, but with much greater responsiveness.
The Storm tends to have a lower flare point or “sweet spot” than the Silhouette or Stiletto. This means you will need to pull the toggles a bit farther to stop your descent, but not quite as far as a Katana or Sabre2.
The Storm is offered with the choice of cascaded 550 microline, 825 microline, or 600 dacron. The Storm is available with a casual CF (Canopy Formation) kit, which includes a retractable pilot chute bridle and attachment points for the top of your canopy. It also includes continuous center A and B lines so you don’t have to worry about your feet getting snagged in cascaded lines. You can order your Storm with the kit installed at no extra charge, or you can purchase the kit separately at a later date. Please indicate in the notes section if you would like the casual CF kit with your new Storm.
The Storm is available in sizes ranging from 230-97 square feet. Please indicate one of the following sizes when ordering: 230, 210, 190, 170, 150, 135, 120, 107 or 97.

The Pulse by Performance Designs is a lightly elliptical nine cell canopy designed especially to suit the active intermediate to experienced "fun jumper." A novice can also fly this canopy as long as it is loaded lightly. It is designed to provide soft and smooth openings, a very flat glide, responsive handling, and easy landings.
The Pulse has a lower pack volume than typical canopies. It is very easy to pack because we put the right fabric in the right place. The canopy has Zero Porosity fabric on the top surface, end cell ribs, stabilizers, and the slider. The remainder of the parachute utilizes the same proprietary Low-Bulk Fabric as is used in PD's revolutionary Optimum reserve. The use of this fabric combination, along with many subtle aerodynamic improvements, results in a canopy that packs small, opens very nicely, and offers easy landings.
Highlights of the Pulse are that the openings are smoother and quicker than the Sabre2 or Katana, a flat glide helps a jumper gets back easier from long spots, the landings are easier to time with less speed than the Sabre2 and the combination of zero-p and proprietary low bulk fabric.
The Pulse is available in sizes of 107, 120, 135, 150, 170, 190, 210, 230 and 260 square feet.

The Performance Designs Reserve is built from their "links up." Features like I-beam construction, along with spanwise and chordwise reinforcement, make this reserve far stronger than it "needs to be." The PD Reserve has been tested well beyond the maximum weight and speed limits required for certification. This reserve has predictable handling, excellent glide in the brakes and outstanding landings.

It is Silhouette 190 SN SI190004380 manufactured 09/2011 by Performance Designs. This canopy has a ZP top-skin, F-111 bottom skin, 825 Spectra lines and PD Slinks. It is Tangerine, White and Royal Blue. All ribs, stabilizers and the slider are Royal Blue. The center cell and outside 2 cells on both sides are Tangerine. The two cells to either side of the center cell are White.
This canopy was ordered for a customer who cancelled their order before delivery. This canopy has never been taken out of the bag to assemble or jump. This canopy is in stock and ready to ship out!
