ChutingStar stocks all necessary components to help get in the air as soon as your helmet shows up at your doorstep. The OPTIK camera helmet from Bonehead Composites features large top and side mounting platforms.
The OPTIK also features a small lip on the back side of the side camera mounting platform to help deflect "Riser-Strike" and to help prevent the accidental loss of your camera. The sides of the helmet give you the ability to put 1 or 2 audible altimeters on the inside not have to worry about them sailing off in freefall.
The OPTIK comes standard with Boneheads's Thermal-Fit liner and ratcheted chin-cup. The cutaway system is optional and can be selected.
Whether you mount your camera on the top or the side or both, the OPTIK is a great camera helmet regardless of what flying position you are in.
Standard color is a glossy carbon fiber finish. Solid color painting of the helmet from Bonehead is available for $25 extra in colors of blue, teal, purple, navy blue, yellow, green, white, silver, black or red. The Optik is available in sizes of small (21.75"-22.5"), medium (22.5"-22.75"), large (22.75"-23.25"), x-large (23.25"-23.75") and xx-large (23.75" and above). Please indicate size and note color, if anything other than carbon fiber.
ChutingStar stocks the Optik in all sizes in a Carbon Fiber finish. A painted finish or out-of-stock size has a 4-week turnaround time.
