Aviacom released this ruggedized display upgrade kit in June 2009 following feedback from student and military operations that subject the display to more abuse than traditional sport jumpers. Units manufactured after January 2010 are manufactured with this kit installed, but any Argus units manufactured prior can purchase this retrofit kit to protect the Argus display.
This optional kit provides a bigger pushbutton, a better click feeling and protects the display against harsh handling. The upgrade kit consists of a retrofitable black anodized aluminum face plate with stainless-steel push-button and detailed instructions. Retrofitting is very easy; it only requires a few drops of glue.
It is suitable for demanding environments such as military, tandem rigs, student rigs and rental gear. It is also an addition sport jumpers may want depending on the placement of the display on their rig and/or the need for a traditional push-button operation.
