ChutingStar Skate Park & Skate Shop
ChutingStar's Private Community Skate Park & Skate Shop is now open daily to the public. The 3000-square-foot indoor climate-controlled park in the rear of ChutingStar-Marietta in Georgia is partially built from the ramps from the now defunct Atnalta Foundation. Jona Owings, of Hazard County Skatepark, built the entire ChutingStar Skate Park. Mike Gruwell, owner of ChutingStar, built out the Skate Shop connected to the park.
ChutingStar's Skate Park was originally built in 2012 for private use for ChutingStar's owner and his twin sons to skate after-hours. But word of the indoor park soon spread, and it was used as a place for ChutingStar's skate team to train, and was opened up on a limited basis to the public initially.
The ChutingStar Skate Park & Skate Shop is now open Monday-Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday-Sunday from noon-8 p.m. Admission to the skate park is free. A waiver must be filled out and signed online (see link below). Skaters must bring a valid form of ID. Minors (under the age of 18) must have a parent fill-out and sign the waiver online. The ChutingStar Skate Park online waiver is linked below. Upon arrival, skaters must check in with the staff at the ChutingStar Skate Shop before skating in the park.
Note: The entrance to the ChutingStar Skate Park & Shop is on the backside of the building at our address. The front entrance is for our skydiving shop, offices and warehouse. Drive or skate around back for the Skate Park & Shop entrance.
Every Sunday, ChutingStar hosts Best Trick Sunday at 1 p.m. It's a free "best trick" competition open to all skill levels. One winner chosen by the ChutingStar Skate Crew every Sunday receives a ChutingStar deck and grip! Just be there to skate for your chance to win!
Lockers are available for use while at the park, but items cannot be left overnight. Snacks and drinks are available from two vending machines in the park. There are two viewing/break areas for spectators as well as one bathroom.
The ChutingStar House Rules must be followed, which are linked below. Skating at ChutingStar is a privilege, and not a right. Those who do not follow the rules cannot skate the park and will be asked to leave.
Helmets are required for minors, and recommended for everyone. We have a few helmets and pads for free use for minors who forget a helmet or others that want to borrow one while at the park. ChutingStar stocks a full-line of helmets, pads and other safety gear for purchase.
Come check out the park, as well as our shop, which is the best-stocked skate shop in Georgia with a full line of skateboards, wheels, trucks, bearings, grip, hardware, clothing, shoes, socks and photo/video gear! Or visit our full Skate Gear Shop online!
