LB Altimeters Service Centers

Larsen & Brusgaard, aka LB Altimeters, continues to show why they are one of the most trusted and respected altimeter makers in the skydiving industry. The company's customer service is well-known as anyone who ever has an issue with one of their products can return it to their headquarters in Denmark for a repair or replacement at little to no cost.

Well now LB Altimeters has gone another step further for its worldwide market and has added two service centers: one in the U.S. and one in Europe. Here are the details on how to have your LB product serviced if you ever have an issue.

FIRST: PLEASE CHECK THESE COMMON CAUSES OF MALFUNCTION OR ERROR BEFORE SERVICE

  • Batteries MUST be Renata CR 2325, not clones from China. We have seen numerous 'failing' units that work properly with the right batteries and the right reset.
  • Installment of the right batteries and the right reset.
  • Master reset when reaching 999 jumps. The VISO II+ will not count above 999: Middle button pressed while doing a reset. Keep pressing the button until beeps are done.
  • VISO II+: Freeze on landing. The unit needs to be updated to the latest firmware.

ALTITRACK & STELLA Notes

The manufacturer asks you to first replace the battery on your ALTITRACK or STELLA and reset the unit if experiencing an issue as many times a low battery is causing the altimeter issue. New batteries can be purchased at this link.

For the ALTITRACK, you will also need to verify the firmware number, which is shown on the rear of the display when turning on the altimeter. If it shows VER 1.05 or lower, the unit cannot be repaired or upgraded due to its age.

One additional note on the STELLA is that this altimeter does use some battery power even when switched off. The manufacturer recommends replacing the STELLA battery and resetting the unit at the start of each jump season.

If battery replacements and resetting the unit does not solve the issue, and your altimeter is within the 2-year warranty period, then the next step is to contact one of these service centers below.
