02/27/2007: "Great Online Resources for Parachute Riggers"
Over the past few months I've surfed across a few great rigging resource sites that I think need a little more publicity due to their value to the rigging community. Make sure you take some time to browse the following three sites.
Check out Dave DeWolf's Para Loft Inc. web site for a thorough listing of sources for raw materials. Click on the Sources link at the top of Para Loft's home page at paraloft.com.
Manuals, manuals and more manuals. The most accessible and easy-to-use site on the web with a nearly complete listing of parachute companies and manuals can be found at parachutemanuals.com.
The Parachute Industry Association Symposium 2007 just wrapped up in Reno and was filled with tons of seminars for riggers. Unfortunately, this gathering only occurs every two years, so in the meantime keep up with the latest rigging questions, techniques and issues at the PIA Rigger's Forum (click here).
Enjoy!
